We're proud to announce the release of Fame Phone after a long journey to bring this project to life. We hope you'll appreciate the care and attention to detail we put into this app to bring you a new experience you won't find anywhere else.

This is our version 1.0 release. Consider this as we work to perfect our system.

A Special Announcement regarding our initial limits:
​
While preparing for launch we encountered an unexpected issue related to our payments, which are processed by PayPal®. This will have a small impact on our initial business period but doesn't affect the app function directly.
Here's the issue and how it will affect your initial experience. You can use the app as normal, just be sure to follow the steps below for a smooth payment experience.

As a new vendor using PayPal payment processing services, we have some initial limitations on how your payments are processed until we establish some history. This is a temporary situation we can resolve once we establish a history of good transactions.

This will affect your initial experience as follows:
​
- When Fans purchase a call, they'll complete a PayPal transaction via our email checkout link (normal)
​
- After your payment, the Hero will receive a notification from PayPal about your payment, BUT NOT the payment itself immediately (not an instant transfer/unexpected)
​
- As a Fan, in your PayPal account under Activity you'll see two transactions for your call, one to the Hero and another to Famous Telephones. (normal)
​
- Our new vendor status will temporarily require you to acknowledge receipt of a digital service by clicking a button on the transactions described above to release your payment. PayPal states it may take up to 48 hours for this option to be available in your account, although it can be sooner. (unexpected)
​
- As a Fan, if you want to proceed with your scheduled call, you'll need to approve this receipt of goods BEFORE your Hero will accept your call, as they require advance payment to secure your requested time.
Approving the receipt of goods as described above will release your payment and allow your call to proceed as normal. (unexpected)

- Fans are initially advised to request calls with Heroes scheduled for at least THREE DAYS in advance, to allow time to access the option in your PayPal account to pay Us and the Hero before your call. (unexpected) Our normal call request window is from 1 hour in the future up to 2 weeks, which we'll offer after this initial limited period.

- As a Hero, this means initially: 1) Please don't accept call requests earlier than three days in advance to allow your payment to be fully processed, and 2) Be sure to verify you've received payment before starting scheduled calls. You'll be notified by PayPal once your payment has cleared and your funds will be available immediately then.

We apologize for these unexpected conditions which may affect your initial experience. Rest assured we are working to fix them ASAP to bring you the full experience we intended. Our app functions properly, but is limited initially by the above issue.

We'll update this announcement as soon as this initial limitation has been lifted.
